BIO
I was born and raised in the country in upstate N.Y. As
a teen and while attending college, I worked summers as a bar tender (the legal age
way back then was 18), a Lifeguard and a swim instructor. I credit bartending
for my superb people skills. Those under the influence and dependant on you for
alcohol are the perfect subjects in which to hone in and perfect these skills.
After graduating high school, I attended college in New York where I earned an
associates degree in the Medical Laboratory Sciences. From there, I shuffled
off to Buffalo (yes I actually did shuffle, it was grueling) where I received a
Bachelors in Forensics.
After working in a Crime Lab and a Cell Culture Media Company in
Buffalo, I left for a job in Richmond, Virginia where I worked for a Medical Reference
Lab. I took a transfer to work in the Florida Keys for a year and then
transferred to Orlando, where I worked as a Medical laboratory supervisor for
8 years. Boredom and monotony set in and I decided Massage School would be a
great diversion. I attended The Orlando Institute in the spring of 1996 and
received my Massage license in the fall. I continued to work at the Lab and do
Massage until the summer of 1999 when I left the Lab and focussed on Massage
full time. Since getting licensed in Massage, I have received certification in
Neuromuscular Therapy and Personal Training and taken
courses in Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques, Myofascial release,
and aromatherapy to name a few.
At this point in my life, I think I have finally "GOT
IT". I have a balanced work and social life, hit the gym most every day (and
like it), have Taken up Tennis and eat healthy. As a result, I am in the best
health and shape of my life. I am Back to my high school weight and have all my
original teeth...and hair:) I do not believe in taking pills to correct problems
that are completely preventable through diet and exercise. With that said, I
will probably get hit by a bus or have a house fall on me. Now YOU get
off your ass and move.
I am a vegetarian I choose this
diet not because of the health benefits (although it is an added perk), but because of the
way factory farms (mis)treat the animals we consume. I personally feel if
people were educated about the neglect, anxiety, torture and mutilation these
animals (sentient beings) go though for our benefit (for a lack of a better word) it
would end a lot of needless suffering. I grew up on a "farm", only my
ducks, horses and cows were pets and when given the opportunity, behaved just as many
peoples dogs do.
